This teacher resource is a Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) web page containing a lesson plan on modelling tropical cyclones. The resource clearly sets out lesson objectives and provides detailed notes about the outcomes expected. It includes a link to in-depth background material on a tropical cyclone's life cycle and development and the associated hazards. This background material includes an animation showing the development of a cyclone on a weather map and an animated cross-section model of a cyclone. The link is for teacher and student reference. The resources and actions section of the lesson plan has a link to a student worksheet for the teacher to print out.
